What is the difference between the City & Guilds 2394 & 2395?
Since the launch of the City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 qualifications people are confused. Who are they aimed at?
In simple terms the City & Guilds 2394 is for electricians who have an idea of Inspection & Testing but with no formal qualification in this area who want ot be able to gain a formal qualification in Initial Verification, inspection & testing on new installations only. So if you carryout any type of new installation, wheather single of three phase this is the qualification for carrying out this type of inspection & testing.
The City & Guilds 2395 is for electricians who has experience in Inspection & Testing but who do not hold an formal qualification in Periodic Inspection & Testing which is for the inspection & testing of existing installations either single of three phase.
Both of these qualifications require a good working knowledge of BS:7671, which is the current 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. The 17th Edition is a must for those who wish to pass either of the 2394 or 2395.
